Using the Setup Wizard

The Setup Wizard makes getting started with Lectora easy. The Wizard will recognize if you are upgrading from a previous version of Lectora and allow you to transfer settings for your library objects, media objects, publish strings, custom colors, and custom templates, along with your custom settings for eLearning Brothers, CourseMill, ReviewLink, and saved FTP profiles.

The Setup Wizards appears when you initially install a new release. To reopen it, open Lectora and select Setup Wizard from the Help Menu pull-down in the upper-right corner.

Follow these steps to transfer into Lectora:

  1. Start the Setup Wizard.

  2. Select the Transfer side-tab. Your previous version is specified in the Lectora Version field.

    The Transfer tab is only available if a previous version of Lectora was detected on your system.
  3. Use the Available for Transfer list to select the settings you want to transfer to the new version you are installing.

  4. Click Transfer.

The settings you selected are transferred into Lectora.

To view and modify your current settings:

  1. Start the Setup Wizard.

  2. Select the appropriate side-tab. For example, to modify your FTP Profiles settings, select the FTP Profiles side tab. Your settings are populated in the appropriate fields.

  3. Verify that the settings are correct for the profile you want to transfer.

  4. Select Save to save the current settings or Reset to clear the fields.

    To delete an unwanted FTP account, select the account and select Delete. Select Save to save the settings or select Save As to create a new FTP profile.

  5. Repeat Steps 2 through 4 to view and modify additional settings.

  6. Select Complete when you are done saving your transferred settings.

Your settings are saved for use in Lectora.
